I believe that most cancer patients can be saved if the tumor is detected at an early stage. If awareness is raised, many lives can be saved.

A few years ago, my cousin detected a growth in her breast and got it surgically removed. I heard it was a benign growth but it had the potential to become cancerous. I am glad that she had detected it earlier! And now that she's healthy, alive and kicking! However, 6 years ago, my grandma lost a battle to cancer and 2 years ago, an uncle of mine died because of cancer as well...

I am deeply moved by the journal entry by $Moonbeam13 'One Step At A Time' [link]

It gave me goosebumps. What have i done since witnessing the death of my grandma and uncle? I have done nothing =(. $Moonbeam13 is truly an amazing person. Hence, I support her fundraising movement to raise people's awareness of breast cancer. =)

Oh, before i forget, this is an entry for @Tachy-on's Pink Quilt Contest. It's a fun contest and a great way to send the message across to those who need encouragement and hope. [link]

I drew identical girls holding hands because when people unite for a common cause, they will look beyond each other's differences and they will eventually seem similar to one another. As for the words, 'You are not alone.', i feel it's the words that would give me hope if i'm gravely ill.

gosh such a long entry >w<... i'm never this talkative, am i? DX

there is like an 80% cure rate at this point

i mean not to sound like a total bitch but is there a person in the US over age 5 who doesnt know what breast cancer is?

i dont think it needs more awareness :\ it just needs a little more research & education so it can be a 98% cure rate, sense there is no such thing as 100% rate for anything.

i think learning about & funding for aids is WAY more urgent than about breast cancer, it doesn't even HAVE cures yet, and it is not even easily prevented without better education, sense there are ridiculously minimal prevention/protection laws in effect.
